Guided by the Stars

When everything requires a thought,

It’s a challenge from the start.

Confusion brews out of sight,

I search for clarity with all my might,

Wishing once again to hold you tight.

As days sink into nights,

What once was joy now evokes fright.

The sky turns black,

The eagle’s wings cease to flap.

My eyes darken, seeking a map,

Stars guide me, avoiding snares,

For they say the devil cares,

Yet I find no comfort in this chair,

Held aloft by cherubs’ wings, in silent prayer.
