Questioning The Known

What is the direct outcome of a war? After the smoke has cleared and the seize is over. The goal has turned from destroying to reconstructing, with what are you left? A conqueror and a conquered. One is clearly superior to the other in some form or another, either by better skill, training, numbers, resources, or natural favor, there was a discrepancy in a quantifiable fashion in order to determine one loser and one winner. There was something that broke the stalemate in which a victor protruded.

All of worldly existence is held together because opposing forces in equilibrium. But what holds these forces in equilibrium? Tension. When in equilibrium, the tension is equal; but, when it is broken, such as the case of the aftermath of a war, the tension is unequally distributed.

But, where is the tension being skewed; where is this new unequal tension being held? In the minds, hearts and spirts of humans. Therefore, it was being held in psychic space. Psychic space is different than physical space in that it does not, to the best of our knowledge, consist of physical space; that is, in the means that it can be measured and said to be in ‘this’ place or ‘that’ one. Physical space is left to the quantifiable, the observable, and the seen (aside from dark energy, and dark matter that are, at the least, accounted for through negative derivation).

Many pathologies arise from the fact that due to the unobservable nature of the psychic realm it is somehow less real than the physical. This distortion is being further augmented as we continue to place more faith in material science (including neuroscience) because it implicitly is discrediting the invisible, and intangible and somehow imaginative. However, the truth is the psychic frontier is one we know quite little about and are therefore afraid to be faced by our own intellectual inferiority in the face of a virtually untapped knowledge domain.

A Dialogue of Deception

“All warfare is based on deception” – Sun Tzu

But with whom are you at war?

Those who have deceived me.

But if you’re deceived by them how can you defeat them?

I was deceived, but through truth, I have become the deceiver while they still believe themselves to be.

Well, who are these that you speak of who have previously deceived you?

You would know – if you were not one of the deceived.

How would I be so sure I wasn’t just paranoid?

Because once you have peered behind the screen of the magician, you realize there was never magic at all, but instead simply the appearance of it orchestrated by a feeble puppet master. . . once the trick is exposed, one can never go back into the submissive role of being the deceived, but instead becomes the deceiver.

But, if he becomes the deceiver, isn’t he just as bad as the original deceiver?

He could be – if he chooses self – but if he chooses others and views them as himself, then he will not fail.

“If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” – Sun Tzu

The Rose Warrior: Aurora Warriors

The goal of the warriors was to prevent consciousness from being hacked. This  was the new form of warfare. Instead of killing each other, Ferna found that he could hack into the minds of our people while he was in the Aurora plane.

He presented ideas that were not their own, but rather ideas he conjured up. He tampered with their memories and dreams so that he was sure he would produce something the individual could not resist, and instead sympathize with. These false memories were in direct alignment with Ferna’s ideology and his doctrine of how the universe was and should continue to be; he saw no middle ground. He operated on an ‘all or nothing ‘principle: they were either with him or against him.

Since he had made the first move on the Aurora plane, we have forever been playing defense, more so than offense. Our warriors could only enter the field by placing themselves in these artificial pods where they were strapped down. The restraints were for their safety…well, and the others tasked on monitoring their vital signs.

You see, once strapped into the pod, they were injected with the poisonous dose of Roodio to help them ascend to the Aurora plane. Of course, the initial step was the plunge where they pop from their physical body into their vaporized energy form. Once this transition occurs, their physical body is left in a delirious and half dreamlike state. For all practical purposes, this means anything goes. Some Aurora Warriors are quiet peaceful and are like Ferna who seem as if they are merely sleeping. While others, behave as if they are acting out a night-terror, which can be dangerous.

If their physical body is injured or tampered with, it can affect how they are able to perform on the Aurora plane. And what that means is they might fall prey to Ferna, who is the tempter for all those on the Aurora plane. He is the master of the plane and he knows it better than anyone. Moreover, his sole goal is to convert others into his puppets. Everyone is at risk of being converted because he can come at any time, but those who are most susceptible are the Warriors who are also on the plane with him. Think of them as being naked and exposed for all that they are. All their secrets of self and past histories are open to Ferna, and he can use them in the most clever of ways to trick them into believing in him.

Of course, to become a Warrior, there is a rigorous training process and only a select few are even considered for The Aurora Battle Academy.

The Rose Warrior: Accidents & Warfare

After King Ferna discovered the Aurora plane through his crystal, he soon used it to control and manipulate our people. At first, we had no idea why all the sudden people were converting and fighting against their own side.

Now, this was when the war was still physical, but the Aurora plane had just been discovered, so their treason resulted in the converted individuals killing their own brothers and sisters.

It wasn’t until we, too, discovered the Aurora plane that we could fight back. Of course, this counterattack was on the Aurora plane not the physical one. So, it was with our discovery of the Aurora plane that ended the war in the physical war entirely.

We discovered it…well…by accident — and a stupid one at that. We have a plant called Cawaa, it’s a rare delicacy, but it also looks extremely similar to another plant called Roodio, which is very toxic. Most people get very ill if ingested Roodio and most people only ingest it by accidentally mistaking it for Cawaa. Some have become so sick they have even died!

But there was one person who mixed the two plants up and had an eye opening experience. He was hallucinating and delirious, but maintained enough control over his consciousness to be able to see in the Aurora plane, which had always existed but was never seen from the physical plane (with the exception of Ferna and the crystal allowing him sight).

He lived to tell his tale. The next day after the experience he regained his normal faculties and told the other Natives about his experience and also that he had seen the source of darkness which we assumed Tao. He said it was a force with an immense power for persuasion and had been hacking our people’s consciousnesses to do his bidding.

The Rose Warrior: The Prince

The prince, Ferna, sent his explorers and warriors to explore the planet. That is when they discovered us and the continent Mu for the first time; it was under the rule of Ferna. Merely years later is when the inevitable war would begin.

All while the world’s war raged on, the commander Ferna stayed at home, usually in isolation, playing with his father’s crystal. He was trying anything and everything to find that the power was real, that at least some part of his father’s legacy was true, and that it wasn’t all just a hoax that he had naively believed.

The skin on his hands were supposedly extremely calloused from constantly caressing the rough edges of the stone. Such hands were usually only found on laborers, never a king. But his obsession with uncovering the stone’s truth had made him a laborer, a slave to the stone.

He tried a myriad of words and phrases desperately hoping to unlock the rocks hidden potential. But for years it remained solely a beautiful rock and for years men and women died fighting on his behalf in a war that he paid no attention to.

They were slain trying to conquer my people and force-feed their ideology, but we would not be quieted and we constantly searched for new ways of war but it was ultimately Ferna to would meek this revolutionary discovery, not my people.

King Ferna was never seen without the crystal in his possession. The only time he and the stone were apart was when he would retire for slumber in the king’s chambers. He would place the stone in vault under his bed so that no one could steal it without waking him up.

However, on one night his routine of taking the stone from his neck and placing it in the vault was interrupted. He had received news that his son, the heir to his thrown, had been killed that day in battle. He was beside himself. He felt like he was a failure at being a father. But he refused to be a failure as a king as well. He laid his head on his pillow that night the same as he did every other night, but this time the stone still lay draped around his neck.

This is when the Aurora plane was discovered.

The Rose Warrior: War and Truth

The war between my people and the Foreigners started off barbaric. Clashing ideologies resulted in millions of lives being lost in the most violent of fashions. Physical bloodshed, chaos and turmoil were produced but nothing was gained.

An idea can never be forced onto someone else, especially those ideas that are rigid and at the core of the person. But, when you truly and fervently believe in the merit of your idea and it is at the core of your very being, then there must be a certain degree of rigidity in order to fight off the opposition. When presented with a directly opposing ideology, you must fight to preserve your people, and your culture from false ideals imposed by the Foreigners.
The first war manifested itself in the physical world; therefore, it was fought on the physical plane. The warriors battled with weapons and dismembered others physically but mentally they remained passionate about the ideology they fought on the behalf of. Those who fought for the Foreigners died believing their cause to be just and those that fought for the Natives felt the same just for a different set of beliefs.

At least that is what we first believed. Originally, we judged their internal state of consciousness solely based on their external actions, but the discovery of the emotional or Aurora plane turned this thinking upside down. It was uncovered that some of the warriors on either side actually believed the ideology of the side they were fighting against; but fought, not out of belief in the ideology of their nation, but out of respect for authority, or protecting their family because they were brainwashed into thinking that the Natives were the aggressors. Regardless, it proved that the war was futile. Because neither side was gaining any ground and lives were callously and pointlessly being lost.

Eventually, the nature of the war changed when with the Foreigners discovered the Aurora plane.

Their ancestors, many years before the current generation, had unearthed a crystal. It was something that would forever change the planet, but appeared to be so innocent. It was breathtaking; a simple violet rock that glistened. However, it was not the appearance that was truly world changing, rather it was what power that it possessed.

At first the discoverer knew nothing of hidden the power inside the stone. The simple beauty of the stone was enough to captivate. He tied a string around it and proudly wore it around his neck.
He paraded around proclaiming himself the leader of all the people in his land. No one had what he did and everyone was enticed by the stone, so he was crowned the first king of Taya. Up until then, there had been no need for a king; their society functioned equally and collectively and had built a metropolis for themselves. But due to the novelty of his discover, he had gained an unequal amount of power and used to his advantage.

The masses followed and adored the ‘One’ as they called him. They worshipped him and envied him for what he had in his possession. The One loved the praise. He soaked up the admiration until the point that he started actually believing in the illusionary power of the stone that the masses already blindly believed in.

He came to the conclusion that he could create anything with the crystal in hand. Of course, he tried and tried in solitude to create things that were not there, but he could not. Yet, he still believed he could! More importantly, he desperately wanted the masses to continually believe. So he would gather the crowds on a yearly basis in the King’s arena, which was in the middle of their advanced metropolis and perform astounding feats (or so it seemed). The ground would shake when he said a few powerful commands while grasping the violent stone. He would go around touching the sick with the tip of the stone and they felt as if they had been healed. He fed off the crowd’s enthusiasm. Ultimately, the spectacle ended with the most fantastic show of power: he would take the crystal, hold it to the moon and say, “be gone fowl source of illumination!” And the light would disappear from the night’s sky. The people were mystified and shouted for the king and proclaimed his glory and almightiness.

In actuality, he hadn’t done anything.  The ground shaking was a result a timed collapse of nearby structures. The healing of the sick was a testimony to the power of true belief and the placebo effect. The blocking out of the moon was due to a lunar eclipse. But the people were ignorant of such astrological events because the One was the only person in possession of a true calendar that showed when these phenomena would occur. He knew when the eclipse would occur and would only set his spectacles for when was going to occur based off his calendar. He controlled all of the knowledge and history that was taught to the people; and omitted anything that would undermine his authority.  Those that still possessed the ancient knowledge of the stars and the movements of heavenly bodies such as the moon would protest the king’s feats as fake and fraudulent. But they were mocked and shunned from society for believing in such absurd notions. And anyone who questioned the One was hated.

Nevertheless, the king knew when the moon would disappear. For the other theatrics, they were carried out by his most loyal servants, so the masses remained blind to the illusionary nature of this power. The people’s belief in the One’s power grew and grew.

However, even his ‘power’ was limited by the constraints of being mortal. Inevitably, his time on this planet ran out. But, right before it did, when he was lying on his deathbed, he whispered to his son, the prince, the truth behind it all.

The prince was horrified and felt betrayed. He was humiliated for believing in such a sham. This revelation motivated the son to find the truth behind the stone and the truth of the world. His son would do the things the king wished he had done.
