The Beloved Gift

For if I could have it all a gift,
It would be wrapped up in your lips.
For if I could live inside my dreams,
It would be hallways of mirrors that I’d see;
And pictures of you dancing all about
On walls of glory and tales of the past.
I’d sit and I’d watch until I remember:
This was always a place I could enter.
I needn’t possess any key or access of entry
For there are no barriers between you and me.
